Salmacis: Becoming Not Quite a Woman is such a powerful and well-written collection that explores such important themes such as: gender, love and identity. One I would definitely recommend to others however unfortunately it just wasn’t for me. But I’m most definitely excited to see what this poet writes next.
The key to success is to question your gender three times before breakfast and throw yourself at water nymphs.
One of my favourite elements when it came to this poetry collection is the fact you can see Elizabeth’s passion, love and knowledge of Ovid’s fables and I think that makes this poetry collection even more special because you as the reader can see the passion and love that Elizabeth put into this collection whilst writing it!
