Today is my stop on the Wolfsong blog tour! I’m so excited to share my thoughts on this book with you guys. I would like to thank Stephen and Tor Books for being so kind and sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Wolfsong by TJ Klune centres on (official blurb): “Ox was twelve when his daddy taught him a very valuable lesson. He said that Ox wasn’t worth anything and people would never understand him. Then he left. Ox was sixteen when he met the boy on the road. The little boy who talked and talked and talked. Ox found out later the little boy hadn’t spoken in almost two years before that day, and that the little boy belonged to a family who had moved into the house at the end of the lane. Ox was seventeen when he found out the little boy’s secret and it painted the world around him in colors of red and orange and violet, of Alpha and Beta and Omega. Ox was twenty-three when murder came to town and tore a hole in his head and heart. The boy chased after the monster with revenge in his bloodred eyes, leaving Ox behind to pick up the pieces. It’s been three years since that fateful day—and the boy is back. Except now he’s a man, and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.”

Wolfsong by TJ Klune is the first book in the Green Creek series and let’s just say it did not disappoint. Whilst I was reading Wolfsong I had so many thoughts and emotions. There was times I honestly thought I was on an emotional rollercoaster! So much so at times I was angry, sad, happy, hopeful, smitten, slightly obsessed, excited and completely enraged! If this doesn’t make you want to read this book I don’t know what will, because in my opinion all the best books take you on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster!

I loved how Wolfsong was a book more about its characters whilst the book has a whole plot and back story to it I think my favourite thing was the characterisation. TJ Klune knows what he is doing when it comes to writing characters. The characters within Wolfsong grabs you by the heart and at times the throat and don’t let you go. My heart absolutely ached and bleed for certain characters and there are a number of characters within Wolfsong that will always hold a special place in my heart!

Candy Canes and pinecones and epic and awesome.

I have to be honest there was times when my mum asked me if I was okay because I was physically shouting at a couple of characters for there horrendous and also annoying actions. If you’ve read Wolfsong you probably know exactly who I’m on about. However, If you haven’t don’t worry there will be no spoilers as I think going into this book blind and not really knowing much about it to begin with is the best decision!

It’s always the ones who are the quietest who often have the greatest things to say.

I can officially say I have finally found a werewolf story that I love. I honestly never thought I would say that sentence. But I’m so glad I get to now!

Mark said you were different. In a good way.

Wolfsong is such a beautiful story that takes the reader on such a stunning journey of self-acceptance, self-love, found families, grief and healing.
