March Wrap-Up

Happy Spring Guys!!! Are you all excited for the new season even if the weather is being a bit crazy right now?! I cannot believe that March has come and gone. Its one of my favourite months of the year okay, okay, I maybe a bit bias there as its my birthday month but oh well πŸ˜‚ I cannot believe I officially turned 28 on the 25th March or the fact that was already over a week ago!!! Like how!!! Anyways I’m here today to do my monthly wrap-up. So without further ado here is my March Wrap-Up:

– Books –

In March I read a total of 12 books.

  • Gallant – V.E. Schwab
  • Sylvia’s Lovers – Elizabeth Gaskell
  • The Balloon Thief – Aneesa Marufu
  • The House of Ulloa – Emilia Pardo Bazan
  • The Old Woman with the Knife – Gu Byeong-Mo
  • The Witch doesn’t Burn in this one – Amanda Lovelace
  • The Mermaid’s Voice Returns in this one – Amanda Lovelace
  • Miracle on Cherry Hill – Sun-Mi Hwang
  • Evelina – Frances Burney
  • Rainbirds – Clarissa Goenawan
  • Little Leap Forward – Guo Yue
  • Winchelsea – Alex Preston

– Favourites –

  • The Balloon Thief Instagram Live Event with Aneesa Marufu and Lauren James – this event was so fun and I loved learning so much more about the writing process for The Balloon Thief as well as the fact that Aneesa is working on a second book. I can’t wait to return to this absolutely beautiful world.
  • Okay this next favourite is very similar to one from last month and that is the Thai Drama Not Me the very last few episodes aired in March and oh my god this series was absolutely everything! It was beautiful, heartbreaking and absolutely fantastic! It’s most definitely a favourite of mine to be fair its probably my most favourite Thai Drama to date and the series and the actors deserve every award possible.
  • A morning trip to Rochester that consisted of secondhand book shopping and also going to my most favourite cafe ever. The cafe is in the crypt of Rochester Cathedral do I need to say anymore!!!
  • The fact that we have had sunny weather and I have been able to sit working at my desk with my bedroom window open for the first time this year.
  • There has been a few evenings towards the end of the March that I just sat at my desk or on my bed and spent the evening reading and I’ve absolutely loved being able to just dedicate a portion of time to just getting lost in my books.
  • Three books in particular have been absolute standouts for me this month and they were Gallant, The Balloon Thief and Rainbirds.
