First of all I would like to thank Mark for being so kind and gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review with no pressure to publicly disclose my opinion.
Heroes of Hastovia Book 3: In Memory of…. by Mark Boutros centres on (official blurb) “Would you risk your afterlife to get back to those you love? Karl expected the afterlife to be better than swinging a pickaxe at nuggets for a tyrant. Not much better, but definitely slightly better. He misses his home, his friends, and seawater that doesn’t burn his skin. He could stick around and spend eternity at the mercy of the deluded narcissist, Zianfer, or he could escape into the unknown and see if it’s better. But it’s not so straightforward. Others are caught up in his escape and he learns of a horrific maze that leads to a portal back to the Land of the Living. Back home. Unfortunately, Zianfer wants to control that portal so she can rule the realms of the living and the dead. So another perilous adventure begins for Karl. With a half dragon, half giant who needs to get back to stop a war, a vengeful warrior with anger management issues, a friendly face he never expected to meet and others, Karl searches for the maze that will either give him a second chance at the life he sacrificed for others, or be his final quest.”
I have to make a small disclaimer here I actually finished reading this book months ago as I was one of Mark’s beta readers. However, I can now officially post my review. As of yesterday the book is now available to buy so once again I would like to say Happy Book Birthday Mark!
This review will be slightly different to my others due to the fact this is the third and final book in a trilogy, I don’t want to spoil anything! Just believe me when I say you need this trilogy in your life.
Heroes of Hastovia: In Memory of… is the third and final book in the Heroes of Hastovia trilogy and believe me when I say this book is just as good as the first two.
In so many ways this trilogy especially this book will always hold such a special place in my heart. It is one of mine and my best friend Lauren’s favourite series and that connection means everything to me!
Even though this is the third book the characters still continue to completely steal my heart. Without a doubt this final book was once again a brilliant page turner. This book, the story and the characters had me completely hooked. Mark this book, this trilogy and your friendship means the world. I just want to thank you so much for this story! You’ve gone above and beyond with not only this book but with the whole trilogy. You should be so proud of yourself! As we are of you!
This trilogy is well-worth the read and wholeheartedly deserves more hype and I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
